November 17, Mikhail Chentsov). Prospects of development of the Law Faculty of
the Kazan Federal University, as well as the results of the Forum's faculty of
Law Faculty graduates, have been discussed today at the meeting of the
Guardianship Council under the leadership of Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan
and the chairman of the Council.
According
to Liliya Bakulina, the dean of faculty, the law faculty is working on the
introduction of specialty program in the direction of the “Legal Support of
National Security”. “We have filed a package of documents, and now the program
is at the stage of obtaining a license for this area of training of
specialists”, she said.
L. Bakulina
drew attention of members of the Guardianship Council on the reduction of the
budget places of the admission quotas at the Law Faculty. Thus, the number of
budget students in 2017 could be reduced to 29 people. The Mayor of Kazan has
promised to give attention to that matter.
Also, the
issue of employment of graduates was raised at the meeting. According to Pavel
Nikolaev, the member of the Council, the head of the Investigative Department
of the Investigative Committee of the RF on the RT, much depends on the
willingness of a person. “We have organized the school for the future
investigator. Students are undergoing training there, and some already work for
us”, he said.
Council
members discussed the results of the research activities of the Law Faculty.
One of the new projects is the competition “My ideal Law Faculty-2030”, in
which students will develop a strategy for the development of the Law Faculty.
The Forum
of graduates, aimed at restoring of the former students’ communication, has
become an important event in the life of the Law Faculty. According to Ildus
Akhtyamov, the member of the Council, the organizers managed to gather several
generations of graduates for the first time of the 200-year history. “We
gathered more than five hundred graduates at the sites of the event. The Forum
has become a landmark and an interesting event, which was covered by many
national media”, he said, thanking the head of Tatarstan’s capital for his help
in organizing of the event.
The I
International Law convention of undergraduate and graduate students “Legal
science and practice 2.0. Looking to the future”, began its work on the day of
the meeting in the walls of the KFU. I. Metshin attended the opening of the
convention, congratulated the participants on the day of the birth of the
university. Today, one of the oldest universities in the country is celebrating
its 212th anniversary.
