May 6). Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulated Rashid Kalimullin, the
chairman of the Union of Composers of Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan, on
the anniversary.
The
meeting, which took place in the Executive Committee of the city, was held in a
warm and friendly atmosphere. In the early 1980s, Rashid Kalimullin was a bayan
teacher in one of the music schools in Nizhnekamsk. There, Ilsur Metshin, the
future Mayor of Kazan, studied musical disciplines and the basics of the
performance. Rashid Kalimullin, as a talented teacher, was able to instill a
love of music for many of his students. Ilsur Metshin presented his mentor with
a letter of gratitude of the Mayor of Kazan.
Damir
Fattakhov, the first deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, and Azat
Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture, also took part in the meeting.
Today,
Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, presented the composer Rashid
Kalimullin with the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan. Leila
Fazleeva, the assistant of the President of Tatarstan, and Airat Sibagatullin,
the Minister of Culture of the RT, took part in the ceremony, which was held in
the Government House of the RT. The high award was given “for the special
contribution to the development of musical art and for many years of productive
creative activity”, reports the press service of the President of the RT.
