(KZN.RU, May 25, by Zilya Gayfi). Today Tatar national festival Sabantuy
will be held in the heart of Paris. Festivities will be held on the Champ de
Mars, near the Eiffel tower. The event will be attended by the Mayor of Paris Anne
Hidalgo, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, and Russian Ambassador to France
Alexander Orlov.
Festival activities will start at 10 a.m. local time and will continue
until the evening. There is a large stage with two screens for broadcasting the
show on the Champ de Mars. The concert program will start with a prologue with participation
of "Kazan", "Tatarstan", "Bulgars", "Kamskie
Zori" dance ensembles, "Charm" show-theatre, as well as
entertainers - Elmira Kalimullina, Aigul Hayri, Roman Plekhanov, Aigul Barieva,
Bulat Khismatov, "Zuleila" singing ensemble and others.
Competitions on Kuresh wrestling, contests and Tatar folk games will be
held on the field in front of the stage. Guests will be able to take part in such
traditional Sabantuy folk competitions, games and contests as running with a
yoke, sack races, tug of war, relay race, archery, searching coins in “katyk”,
breaking the clay pot.
Products of national crafts and Tatar cuisine will be exhibited on a
festival, guests could join master classes on making national products of Tatar
people – gold embroidery, manufacture of leather mosaic, and others.
The agreement on holding Sabantuy in the capital of France was reached
at the meeting of the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and the Mayor of Paris Anne
Hidalgo. On the eve of the festival tourism potential of
Kazan was presented in Paris.
