October 27). The multimedia historical park “Russia is My History” was opened
on the territory of the exhibition center “Kazanskaya Yarmarka”.
Rustam
Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, Alexey Sukhov, the deputy plenipotentiary
representative of the President of the RF in the Volga Federal District, Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Vasil Shaikhraziev, the deputy prime minister of
the RT, Bishop Tikhon, the chairman of the Patriarchal Council for Culture,
Theophanes, the Metropolitan of Kazan and Tatarstan, Kamil Samigullin, the
chairman of the Muslim Religious Board of the RT, and others took part in the
event.

Minnikhanov noted that the opening of the Kazan branch of the historic park
“Russia is My History” is an important event in the life of the republic.
According to him, similar museum complexes already operate in a number of
regions of Russia and managed to gain wide public recognition. “Knowledge of
national history, respect for it is one of the indicators of human education
and the basis of patriotism. Everyone who crosses the threshold of the museum
exposition will be convinced that we live in a great country with an amazing
history. One of the main advantages of the project is the demonstration of the
inseparable unity of the history of Russia and its constituent republics,
territories, and regions”, said the President of the RT.
According
to Rustam Minnikhanov, the historical exhibition is designed, first of all, for
the younger generation. “I am confident that this unique project will become a
point of attraction for people who are concerned about the history of Tatarstan
and Russia, a place for large-scale urban, republican educational and patriotic
events, recreation and communication of young people”, said the head of
Tatarstan.
Then Alexey
Sukhov read out the text of the welcome telegram on behalf of the Presidential
Administration. “It is symbolic that today, on the eve of National Unity Day,
the park “Russia is My History” opens exactly in Kazan, which played an
important role in the formation of a united Russian nation, in the formation of
a united people of Russia”, said in the telegram.
Bishop
Tikhon added that the history of the Tatar people is closely intertwined with
the history of Russia. “Our country became the heir of the Chinggisid Empire
largely due to the ancestors of the current inhabitants of Tatarstan. I hope
that this historic park will become a home and a place of friendliness and
joint study of history for many Kazan people”, he said.
Honored
guests inspected the exhibition expositions. The centuries-old history of
Russia represented in the historical park by a variety of information carriers:
touch tables, 3D screens, cinemas, audio guides. The exposition of the museum
is divided into four thematic sections: “Rurikovichs”, “Romanovs”, “From great
upheavals to the Great Victory”, “Russia is My History. 1945 – 2016”. The total
area of the exhibition is 5.5 thousand square meters.
A separate
place in the historical park is dedicated to the Tatarstan exposition, where
the history of the Tatar national statehood and the republic, culture, and
enlightenment from ancient times to nowadays are presented, reports the press
service of the Tatarstan Government Portal.
