Cutting down trees in the Uritsky park is a real sabotage, egregious example that cannot be hushed up! The contractor has been given permission to cut several emergency trees but he had cut down more, including a tree, which was a symbol of the park for many citizens. That should not have happened!

Of course, now we can take comfort in that the tree turned out to be rotten in the end. Any hurricane could cause a terrible misfortune if the tree would fall on a passing man. But this does not justify the action of the contractor, because tree cutting should be done only with the permission! All the huge work on the reconstruction of more than 30 urban parks and gardens was discredited because of a negligent contractor.

But we have taken concrete steps to ensure that the situation will not repeat in the future. First, the clear regulations were established, which each contractor must comply with, and secondly - advisory council was created. Before our enterprises of improvement will get allow for felling in the Executive Committee, the advisory council, together with the experts will make a decision for each tree.

But the most important role in this issue Kazan citizens play. This case has once again demonstrated how active our citizens are. It is because of their indifference contractors won’t cut down any tree illegally! I thank them for that! That's how should any work in the city take place - under the strict control of citizens, taking into account their views.
