Contemporary
generation is often criticized. They say that young people are passive, read
little and interested in nothing. But in our city I see active guys who prove
the opposite daily, turning bold ideas into actual projects, who live cultural
and creative life! A bight example is the Summer Book Festival at the Center
for Contemporary Culture "Smena", which started with the initiative some
of Kazan citizens.
Last year I
attended a festival of intellectual literature and was glad that this project
has been very popular, Kazan residents of different ages visited the fair, and
they enthusiastically chose books to replenish their library. Such a number of reading
residents indicates the level of the capital city, gives a cause for pride,
Kazan raises to a new level! I myself did not go out with empty hands – I have bought
some interesting books on urban planning.
This year's
book festival comes at the end of August. What could be the best gift to the
City Day for reading residents? I am sincerely grateful to the organizers for
this symbolic project for our city! I am glad that young enterprising guys live
in the capital of Tatarstan, they do their work with faith and enthusiasm. And
I urge all of Kazan residents to visit the festival, look at the shelves with
the latest new books and to use a rare opportunity to chat with the writers.
Russia has always been famous for the fact that its residents read a lot. And
our city will do everything to make this tradition continued.
