Mayor of Kazan: Heat supply is vital for the city
According to the Kazenergo heat supplier’s general director Farkhat Fairushin, the considerable wear of the equipment and heat networks pipelines is a grave issue. Due to the lack of funds for capital repair and reconstruction of heat networks implementing new technologies is not always possible.
Mr Fairushin provided the statistics: in the first half of the year 2008 the total amount of heat loss had been 938 thousand Gcal. The heat loss is estimated at about 380 million roubles. A total of about 10 billion roubles is required to renew the Kazan’s heating networks.
