Assistance in providing fuel to
humanitarian organizations, repair of vehicles used for delivering humanitarian
aid, and the centralized purchase of materials for the production of apron.
These issues were discussed today at a meeting of the coordinating council of
the special military operation at the Yaratam Club by volunteer organizations,
headed by Yuri Suvorov. The Mayor Ilsur Metshin took part in the meeting.
«It is an honor for me to be a
part of this meeting, and thank you for inviting me. We meet with you from time
to time at various venues. It is very important that we support our fighters of
the special military operation systematically. The work is enhancing not only
thanks to support at the federal level, but also thanks to your devoted work. This
work has allowed me to get to know many of Kazan citizens in a completely new
way. Participation does not depend on a profession, nationality, or age, but
rather on the size of their heart, soul, and patriotism. I am honored and proud
to be here», – the Mayor said.
The idea to establish the
coordinating council came in November 2024. This council is needed to promote
cooperation between volunteer organizations and solve common issues, to coordinate
efforts to provide humanitarian aid to zone of the special military operation and
create mechanisms to combat fraudulent schemes.
Yuri Suvorov, the head of the
council, mentioned that they are currently working on issues such as creating a
register of reputable volunteer organizations, a list of reliable suppliers of
humanitarian goods, and the development of a council website.
The transport issue was discussed
at the coordination council. Evgenia Kotsar, Director of ANO «For Victory!
Kazan», thanked the Mayor for providing humanitarian organizations with a
vehicle. However, one of the main problems faced by volunteers is high fuel
costs.
Ilsur Metshin promised to address
this issue and also contact car service companies to see if they could assist
with repairing transport or conducting inspections before shipping cargo.
He also offered to purchase a
batch of materials for organizations that produce apron. This purchase will be
made at discounted prices, providing all volunteers with the necessary raw
materials.
The Mayor proposed using the
resources of the Department of Food and Social Nutrition to produce dry soups,
which are in high demand at the frontline. There are also difficulties in
obtaining meat or chicken, and Ilsur Metshin has instructed the Committee for
Economic Development to solve this issue.
The council also discussed the
need to develop a rehabilitation program for those returning from the special
military operation, as well as the training of volunteers and the creation of a
pool of volunteers who could assist in emergency situations, as well as how to
encourage volunteers with municipal awards.
