Today, Kazan cultural workers were honored at the Chulpan Recreational Center. At the ceremony, the winners of the «Best Employee» and «Best Municipal Cultural Establishment» competitions were announced. Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of the city, awarded cultural workers with state and departmental awards.
«The cultural workers of the city not only carefully preserve and develop its rich heritage, but they also promote Kazan far beyond its borders. Last year, 20 million people attended cultural events and city activities, 2,560 people are employed in municipal cultural institutions», – said Ilsur Metshin
The Mayor expressed his gratitude to cultural workers for their contribution to the education of young people. «Both parents and the city leadership are pleased that children have an opportunity to develop their talents. This audience includes teachers, educators, and managers of cultural establishments, who dedicate themselves to this important cause. I want to thank you for your great work», – the Mayor said in his address.
The Mayor emphasized the consistent attention to the development of culture paid by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov over the years. There are more than 400 cultural establishments in Kazan, and 107 of them are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Culture. In the past 20 years, 95% of these cultural institutions have been renovated. This year, the reconstruction of the Abdulla Alisha Palace of Children's Creativity is planned.
During presentation of state and departmental awards, Karina Ziganshina and Saida Mukhametzyanova were awarded the honorary title of «Honored Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan». Elena Borminskaya, Nail Ziatdinov, Ilham Mustafin and Anastasia Fattakhova were also awarded with title of «Honorary Worker of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan». In addition, Veronika Zaitseva was presented with the gratitude of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation. Venera Ganeeva received a letter of thanks from the Mayor of the city for her work on the anniversary.
The winners of the «Best Employee» and «Best Municipal Cultural Establishment» competitions in Kazan were awarded as well. These titles are given to representatives of the city's cultural community who have made significant contributions and the improvement of citizens' quality of life.
The Tatarstan Youth Symphony Orchestra led by People's Artist of Russia Alexander Sladkovsky and People's Artist of Tatarstan Alina Sharipzhanova performed, as well as the orchestra from the Sofia Gubaidulina Center for Contemporary Music and winner of international competitions Ilgiz Shaikhraziev.
