Ilsur Metshin, "We need to do the brand from the art of Konstantin Vasilyev"

 (KZN.RU, January 14, Olga Gertseva). Today Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan met with Gennady Pronin, the Director of the Konstantin Vassiliev Gallery to discuss the future of the gallery.

Shortly before the New Year the administration of the reinforced concrete structures plant asked to quit the plant’s territory on the Gvardeyskaya Street, 61, where since 1996 paintings of the famous artist have been kept. An impressive debt for the tenancy equals to 1 million 600 thousand rubles.

At the meeting Ilsur Metshin said that the rent price was excessive; the plant requires 110 rubles per month from the gallery. The Mayor said that since the day rent problem must not concern people of arts, the Mayor’s Office undertakes the negotiations with the factory on this issue.

The heritage of Konstantin Vasilyev is extremely valuable for Kazan. Here the artist spent the years in Kazan Art College, lived and worked not far from Kazan - in the Vasilevo village. Gennady Pronin, the Director of the Gallery was a friend of the artist from his student days, that's why he was able to save paintings which now are exhibited in Kazan. Totally there are about 90 paintings and drawings in the Gallery.

Ilsur Metshin said that we need to acquaint tourists the heritage of the artist. Educational function of the Gallery for children and teens is also important. " We need to do the brand from the art of Konstantin Vasilyev ", the Mayor said.

As Ilsur Metshin promised the repair will not be a time-consuming; the Gallery again will be opened soon for visitors and admirers of Konstantin Vasiliev art.

Today Gennady Pronin and Dinara Kamaleeva, the Head of the Culture Department will inspect buildings proposed the Gallery.
