KZN.RU, June 20). The capital of Tatarstan will join the All-Russian action
"Candle of Memory", which will take place on 22 June. As it was noted
by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin today at the Business Monday, Day of
Remembrance and Sorrow is another reason to gratefully remember the fallen in
war.
The acting
chairman of the Committee on Children and Youth Affairs Irina Bochkova told
about what events are scheduled on this day in the city. She said that the
beginning of the All-Russian action "Candle of Memory" is scheduled
on June 22 in 2 a.m. "Since 2.00 a.m. till the hour of war beginning 4.00
a.m. a mourning procession with candles from the Eternal Flame in Gorky
Park to the Eternal Flame in Victory Park will be held" - acting chairman of
the Committee told. According to her, it is expected to involve more than 500
people in the Tatarstan capital. Last year more than 50 thousand people were
participants across Russia.
On the same
day in Victory Park at 10.00 a.m. memorial service is scheduled, after which
graduates of Kazan schools will sent balloons into the sky in memory of their
peers of 1941 year. Also on this day in the Glory Park opening of the monument
to the outstanding Soviet intelligence officer Richard Zorge is scheduled. I.
Metshin thanked MUE "Metroelektrotrans" for the installation of the
monument and the landscaping of the square. "This is a good example to
follow", - the Mayor said. In Sovietsky district the meeting will be held
in the park near Said Galeev House of culture at 10.00 a.m.
In the Day
of Remembrance and Mourning events will take place in the majority of
institutions and enterprises of the city. "In the universities lectures
with the participation of war veterans, in school camps - the memorable lines will
be held," - I.Bochkova said. Students will conduct cleaning on military
graves in the cemeteries at st. Okolnaya and lay flowers on the graves of
fallen soldiers. Also student associations of youth movements will organize action
"Arise, great country" and "Remember the heroes of those years"
in the social networks.
"Attention
should be paid to all veterans," - Ilsur Metshin addressed to the heads of
departments. Mayor of Kazan said that the meeting will also need to be attended
by as many young people as possible.
