campuses of Innopolis. The average hotels load was 65%, which is 30% higher than
in the same period last year. This was announced at a staff meeting by Daria
Sannikova, director of the Committee for Tourism Development.
“Phygital sports is an absolutely new chapter in the sports history. And
it was started in Kazan. The interest in these competitions shows that the
Games have a great and bright future. Nine countries have already announced
their readiness to host the next competitions. We will be watching with
interest where the next Games will take place. We wish this big ship a beautiful
voyage and a fair wind. Phygital sports unites young people. The founder of the
Olympic Games, Baron Pierre de Coubertin, once said: “Oh, sport! You are the
world,” so do we. We hope that this beautiful story will be continued,”- said
Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan.
The participants of the tournament highly appreciated the organization
of the competitions and the city. More
than 85,000
tickets were sold
during the competitions.
“We attended not only the opening and closing ceremonies, but also the
competitions. The interest was growing day by day. Competitions took place at
different venues, but phygital hockey and phygital football are closer to me.
Yesterday we attended the final of the phygital football with teams from Uruguay
and Moscow. The strongest wins, and his majesty the sport wins! It's a very
interesting format. We also watched the competitions at Tatneft Arena, where
the guys didn't have enough emotions for the final part. The tournament also
took place in the IT park, the Kazan Expo, in the circus - there is great
interest everywhere,”- the head of the city shared his impressions.
