Thorough preparations
for the BRICS summit, which will take place this October, begin in Kazan this
week. To date, 33 countries have confirmed their participation in the
international forum. The capital of Tatarstan has extensive experience in
holding major events, but it is necessary to prepare for them every time as for
the first time, Mayor Ilsur Metshin noted today at the Business Monday meeting.
“In
addition to the regular work on maintenance the urban economy, landscaping, and
cleaning up the city, an additional serious challenge for us is the preparation
for the BRICS summit. The most important political event, the country's
leadership has entrusted us with hosting the entire friendly world. To date,
about 33 delegations have already confirmed their participation. This is a huge
number of business representatives. This is not the first time we have hosted
an international event, but this is the first time we will hold an event of
this level, so starting this week we will work closely in all areas,”- said
Ilsur Metshin.
“I always
urge you to prepare for any event from scratch, without bravado about what we
have already done. I drove around the city last week and on the weekend, while
there was no traffic, I looked, and we have enough work to do. And thank God.
Resources have been allocated for this work, thanks to Rustam Minnikhanov, the
Rais of Tatarstan. He allocated funds to prepare the city for the event. And
federal programs also work to fulfill these tasks,”- the Mayor stressed.
