On October 1-10, Kazan will host the Decade of the Elderly, during which
a variety of charity events, cultural activities, sports competitions, and
excursions will take place. The older generation will be greeted daily on
public transport as well. Guzel Sagitova, Deputy Head of the Executive
Committee, has shared the event program on the Business Monday.
“We prepare for each decade of the elderly with special care. Respect
for the elderly has been instilled in our society since childhood. We all
understand what a difficult life our parents, grandparents, and older
generations have lived with our country. These people have made great
contributions to the country, the republic, and the city, so we try to show our
respect regularly, not just during a decade,”- said Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
Such events as “Veteran Lives Nearby” and “Day of Kindness and Respect” will
take place at schools. Students will prepare greetings, videos, autumn
bouquets, cards, and letters for elderly and war veterans. There will also be
themed meetings, concerts, festivals, and craft fairs called “Good Meetings”.

Vasiliev, Amir Mazitov, and Baki Urmanche for free on October 1-3. The Zoo will

Soul Young”, a city-wide Russian billiards tournament, and the football
