Ilsur Metshin controlled the progress of the modernization of the camp “Ekran”

(KZN.RU, July 27, Kseniya Shvetsova). Ilsur Metshin visited the sports camp “Ekran”, where pupils of Kazan sport schools rest and exercise. The Mayor visited the camp infrastructure, talked with the children and wished the young athletes great victories and achievements. 

The sport camp “Ekran”, which was opened in 1965, is on the balance of the Specialized Children and Youth Sport School of Olympic Reserve “Tasma” (SCYSSOR) at the moment. According to employees, the popularity of the camp is very high. Work of four specialized shifts in athletic orientation with 960 campers organized this summer. The children spend all day outdoors and, most importantly, they train under the supervision of experienced trainers every day. The camp includes a variety of sports: volleyball, football, basketball, athletics, judo, gymnastics and even archery. 

7 dormitories are located on the campsite. Volleyball and basketball court, gym, hospital mat and football field were built here for the children. The Mayor spoke with the young football players, judokas, and gymnastics champions. 

Svetlana Vostrikova, the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sport of Kazan, told to the Mayor that the reconstruction of the dining room on the overhaul program was carried out in the camp last year. Also, the Mayor visited the shower room, where repairs are planned to carry out. 

Another new sport facility will be made for children this year - the construction of mini-football field with artificial turf started in the camp on the sponsored funds. It is also planned to build a new volleyball court soon. 

According to Rezeda Shurygina, director of the sport school “Tasma”, children, who are resting in the camp, are really professional athletes. “We have raised and released 57 masters of sport. Among them, for example, Elena Migunova, the Honored Master of Sport of Russia and Olympic silver medalist in athletics, Pavel Nikolaev, the Master of Sport of Russia, Alsu Murtazina, the master of sport of international class”, said R. Shurygina. 

She added that the only licensed archery branch in Tatarstan is based on the school, where 80 people train for today. “We have achieved very good results in 5 years: 25 students are the first sports categories, two are the master of sports and 8 candidates for master of sports. Almost all children are winners of the All-Russian competitions”, said R. Shurygina.
