Five trucks with 100 tons of humanitarian supply were sent today from
Kazan to Lisichansk. Food, medicines, building supplies and other necessary goods
were collected for residents of the territory supported by Tatarstan. The Mayor
of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the shipment from a warehouse located on the
Gorky Highway. He thanked everyone who took part in the collection of
humanitarian supply.
The head of the city noted that today the first shipment of humanitarian
supply is being sent in such a large volume. Until the end of the year,
together with the republican movement "Yardam yanashe! Help is coming!” it
is planned to organize at least three shipments. “Just recently, we have organized
a city collection point for humanitarian supply, - the head of the city reminded.
– The residents actively participated in it. In less than a week, we have
collected the first humanitarian echelon. About 300 citizens and 90 enterprises
- small firms to large businesses took part. We want to thank everyone. Kazan
will do everything necessary to ensure that our mobilized soldiers and
residents of Lisichansk are provided with everything necessary at this stage, such
as food, medicines and building materials.”
Residents of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan provide not only
financial assistance, but also emotional support to those in need. Many people
sent messages on special postcards from humanitarian supply collection points. “Our
children make drawings and write letters in schools and kindergartens. There
were 180 such messages. The children wish our fighters an early return, health,
as well as peaceful skies. Special words of gratitude to both children and
their parents, as well as teachers who organized this work,”- Ilsur Metshin
said.
A warehouse on 53a Gorky Highway with an area of 800 sq.m was provided
free of charge by one of the entrepreneurs of Kazan. A batch of special
clothing, shoes and personal protective equipment has already been received
from Kazan-Vostok-Service LLC, said Timur Zagidullin, commercial director of
the company.
About 10 tons of products – cereals, sugar, salt and canned food – were
delivered by the Privoz vegetable warehouse. Nefis Cosmetics, Nega Paper
Factory, Briz, Kazanskaya Mill, Bakery and Confectionery Factory, the
Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Kazan and Tatarstan, as well 17 companies
of Himgrad and others also contributed to the collection of supplies.
Thirty volunteers work at the collection points and the central
warehouse. In total, about 100 people worked during the operation of the
points. Humanitarian supply collection points are located in different
districts of Kazan, each of them is marked with the logo of the ANO “Good
Kazan”. The warehouse on Gorky Highway is open on weekdays from 9:00 to 18:00,
on Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:00.
Non-perishable goods are accepted at the points, for example, canned
food, tea and instant coffee. Citizens can also bring hygiene products –
toothpaste and brushes, shampoo, soap, shaving foam, toilet paper, as well as
clothing – jackets and down jackets, shoes, T-shirts, fleece vests, thermal
underwear, tights, socks, gloves, mittens and hats.
