The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin met with the Kudermetov family. A conversation with the
sports dynasty from Tatarstan took place at the Executive Committee of the
city. Shamil Tarpishchev, President of the Russian Tennis Federation, also
attended the meeting.
The head of the
city noted that the Kudermetov family's sporting achievements are known in the
republic, the country and abroad. I. Metshin noted their contribution to the
development of professional sports.
Eduard
Kudermetov is a master of sports of Russia in ice hockey. He competed at the
professional level for almost 20 years, 10 of them at the Ak Bars hockey club.
As a member of this team, he won gold at the Russian Championship in 1998.
After completing his sports career, E. Kudermetov trained his daughters
Veronika and Polina, who achieved great results in tennis.
Veronika
Kudermetova is an honored Master of Sports of Russia and the winner of
international championships. She recently became the seventh Russian woman in
history to win the doubles at the final WTA tournament.
Polina
Kudermetova became a master of sports of Russia at the age of 15. She has won
six ITF tournaments and has become a two-time champion of the Russian
Federation in mixed doubles, as well as the winner of the Russian Cup.
