Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin has inspected the progress of the
pot hole patching at the intersection of Fuchika Street and Safiullina Street
in the Privolzhsky district. Works began on March 13. It is planned to repair
road sections with a total area of 30 thousand square meters.
Kazan Mayor noted that through various communication channels, the
Executive Committee receives complaints from drivers about the condition of
roads. “We are forced to start work earlier than April. Patching will be carried
out on an area of 30 thousand square meters. This is a temporary measure that
is used before full road works, which are traditionally started after the May
holidays,”- I. Metshin said. When determining the sections of roads where
patching is required, the appeals of Kazan residents were taken into account,
he added.
One of such sites is the intersection of Fuchika and Safiullina streets.
There is heavy public transport traffic and a large flow of cars, so road
workers started patching in the first week after the start of repairs.
Now, when the air temperature is above zero, the work is carried out
using floating asphalt. At the same time, deep and emergency holes with an area
of up to 5 sq.m are eliminated.
The work is carried out mainly at night, so as not to interfere with the
traffic. “During the day we prepare the hole, and in the evening, we fill it
with floating asphalt. After the air temperature rises to +10 degrees, we will
switch to hot asphalt concrete,”- said Igor Salyakhutdinov, chairman of the Land
Improvement Committee.
Currently, patching works are carried out on Tetsevskaya st.,
Pravobulachnaya st., Levo-Bulachnaya st., Rikharda Zorge st., Khimicheskaya st.,
Peterburgskaya st., Dekabristov st. and Gorkovskoe Highway.
After the work is completed on the main streets, bridges, interchanges
and overpasses, workers will continue repair at the other challenging sites.
Albert Salikhov, head of the administration of the Vakhitovsky and
Privolzhsky districts, also took part in the visiting meeting.
