Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin awarded scholarships for the achievements of 2025 at the City Hall. Students of children's music, art, and sports schools, as well as postgraduates, received awards for their accomplishments in various areas. This year, the competition received a record number of applications—approximately 300. As many as 102 talented young people of the city were granted the Kazan Mayor's scholarship, and 78 of them attended the award ceremony.
In his speech, the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin noted that this year Kazan has once again become a center of attraction for young and talented people from different parts of the country and the world. For the first time in modern history, the city welcomed with great hospitality the gifted musicians of the New Wave Festival, which brought together singers from six countries. In November, more than 2,000 students from 82 regions of Russia participated in the All-Russian festival «Russian Student Spring» in Kazan.
In September, the BRICS+ Youth Festival took place in Kazan, which gathered over 150 teenagers from 12 countries. Each participant had the opportunity to explore the history and culture of Kazan, as well as perform their skills in mathematics and computer science.
As Ilsur Metshin noted, the program to support talented children and young people is an important task for educating the younger generation. Since its launch, it has showed significant results: laureates manifest themselves in various fields, from science and art to sports, achieving outstanding accomplishments.
«Dear guys, you are the future of our city, republic, and country. Your efforts and achievements help to make Kazan better and stronger. I would like to express my special gratitude to your parents and mentors for their support. No doubt, the success of our guys is the result of your personal work. Once again we see that there are young talents in Kazan who can change the world for the better», – said the Mayor of the city.
