Ilsur Metshin took part in a meeting of the working group on urban planning in the historical settlement of Kazan. Experts in the architectural and construction field discussed the construction and renovation of 13 buildings. Most of the projects were approved and will be presented at the republican interdepartmental commission. Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, the chief architect of Kazan, presented both bold modern and delicate restoration initiatives. Among them is the club house on Aivazovskogo Street, which design resembles a ship from the paintings of the great marine artist Ivan Aivazovsky.
The project of an underground parking lot on Gabdulla Tukaya Street received unanimous approval. A project of the multifunctional spiritual center with a dormitory on Mazita Gafuri Street was also approved. The concept has been developed so that the neighboring “pink” mosque remains the dominant site of the area.
The experts also reviewed the project of an extension to the educational building of the Kazan National Research Technical University, which includes the renovation of the existing building.
“Let's respect the contribution of each participant. So that even just walking by, we understand that we are working for a good cause. Anyway, we won't be able to restore the wooden Kazan, but we can create something new, calm, and modern,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
The experts reviewed the project a mall on Sary Sadykova Street, a public building on Podluzhnaya Street, a business center on Tikhomirnova Street, and the reconstruction of facilities on Klara Tsetkin Street.
All the presented projects received the approval of the experts. The final review will take place at a meeting of the interdepartmental commission on urban development in historical settlements, with the participation of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
