Preparations for the next heating season is being completed in Kazan
Preparations for the 2026/2027 heating season is being completed in Kazan. Iskander Giniyatullin, deputy head of the Kazan Executive Committee, reported today about the readiness of three thermal power plants, 125 boiler houses of JSC “Kazenergo”, 45 departmental boiler houses and 3 district boiler houses of JSC “Tatenergo”.
By winter, nearly 2,000 km of external heating pipelines with diameters ranging from 50 mm to 1,200 mm, and nearly 9,000 km of internal heating networks in 5,586 multi‑apartment buildings with central heating, must be tested. The heating systems of nearly 900 social institutions and more than 9,500 enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership are also being inspected.
Kazan heating networks of JSC “Tatenergo” reconstructed and repaired 23 km of heating networks (completion rate is 99%). This year, JSC “Kazenergo” replaced 14 km of networks (completion rate is 69%).
The readiness of social facilities is 95%. Hydro flushing and pressure testing of heating networks have been carried out in 98% of residential buildings.
“In recent years, there have been no accidents in Kazan that resulted in cutting of the heat for more than six hours. This is the result of extensive, systematic work by our colleagues from the republican government, and teams of heat supply organizations. The entire set of measures is carried out in advance. The heat supply system is a large complex that requires preparing six thousand apartment buildings and hundreds of social facilities in our city. Good preparatory work has been carried out ahead of the new heating season, and this year as well. Let’s hope, the winter will pass without any incidents,” – said the Mayor Ilsur Metshin.
The preparation is carried out in accordance with Order No. 2234 of the Russian Ministry of Energy. The Order defines the following deadlines: the passports of readiness for the housing stock must be issued by September 10; heat supply companies will complete the receipt of permits by October 25; the city of Kazan will receive the winter readiness passport by November 15.
