I.Metshin: “Over 600,000 Kazan residents and tourists attended the events dedicated to the City Day”

Over 600,000 Kazan residents and tourists attended the festive events during the celebration of the City Day and the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin thanked everyone who participated in the preparation of the celebrations. 

The festive program began a few days before the main celebrations. Different concerts and music festivals, as well as sports events took place in the city’s public spaces. 

“The events started a few days before the holiday. The most important thing for us is to ensure public order. Over 600,000 Kazan residents and tourists attended the festive events these days. They had an opportunity to watch the water race, a music festival, as well as to visit concerts or listen to the performance of our symphony orchestra,”- said the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin. 

Ilsur Metshin paid special attention to the opening of new sports facilities. Among them is the new Football Center, designed for the main and youth teams, the women's team and the boarding school students. 

A Figure Skating Center was also opened on the eve of the holiday. Kazan also develops infrastructure for other sports – rugby, archery. A new sports complex FIZRA has opened in Salavat Kupere, designed for practicing various sports. 

The Mayor also noted the development of an inclusive sports infrastructure. A modern swimming pool opened for blind and visually impaired people, as well as residents with disabilities. 

Concluding his speech, Ilsur Metshin thanked everyone who ensured the celebration and the development of the city.
