(KZN.RU, March 13). Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin was awarded the medal "25 years of withdrawal from Afghanistan" today. The high award was handed by the famous Russian politician and public figure, the first president of the Republic of Ingushetia, Hero of the Soviet Union, member of the supreme council of the international union “Combat Brotherhood without Borders" Ruslan Aushev.
The ceremony was held in Kazan City Hall. The medal was awarded by decision of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu. "Kazan is doing a lot for war veterans," Ruslan Aushev thanked the Mayor of Kazan.
Ilsur Metshin, in turn, said that it was a great honor to receive the award from the hands of Ruslan Aushev. “We treat you and the brotherly people with a sincere love and respect. We give special thanks for the support you offer to war veterans, including those who fought in the Afghan war,” said the Mayor.
