Ilsur Metshin: "It will be not enough of the whole TV program for listing all the plans for the development of Kazan"

Presenter: The TV broadcast continues with "Tema". Alexey Kuleshov is in the studio, hello! Our today’s guest is Mayor of Kazan city Ilsur Raisovich Metshin. Ilsur Raisovich, good evening!

I.M.: Good evening!

A.K.: Frankly speaking, this meeting is long-awaited. Ilsur Raisovich, we will together discuss how Kazan will live this year and for what, perhaps, we will remember it.

I.M.: Spring is not only time for hopes, but also it’s time for development of Kazan. The reason is that this year on the eve of the World Cup, which we are waiting for and we are thoroughly preparing for, we have to carry out a huge amount of work before the beginning of June. First of all, it is the construction and major repairing city roads.

We have formed a plan, a list of yards, streets, apartment buildings, teenage clubs, hospitals, kindergartens and schools, which is published on the website of the City Council. Anyone has an opportunity to visit the website and find out when we are planning a particular object to be repaired.

This year we schedule to repair 430 house yards - 150,000 citizens of Kazan will fell the improvement. Also, 5.5 billion r. is allocated for capital renewal of roads, and it is just the beginning. We hope that it will be possible to receive additional funds by the end of the season and to repair more city roads. Moreover, the type of roads is very different. Undoubtedly, first in the list are the roads that will be involved in the World Cup- Sibgata Khakima, Korolenko, Orenburgskiy trakt and so on. The roads that we are repairing by the appeals of citizens under the "Narodnyy kontrol'" program are also in the list.

A.K.: We are so used to the fact that every year something new appears in Kazan. In addition there's also the championship. What else will please us?

I.M.: We hope that at the nearest future, we’ll see the completion of the construction of the city zoo and the African "Zambezi River" will have its new visitors. It is such a serious and complicated project. It is connected not only with the construction site, but I’ve told you already, with the delivery and adaptation of animals from Africa.

We are completing the renovation of the Samosyrovkaya garbage dump. Of course, it is not a cultural object, but it also shows the culture, ecological state of the city. The are 46 million tons of garbage collected in 50 years, it’s the height of a 16-storey building. This year we will finish the improvings and the dump will turn into a green hill.

The “Dubravnaya” subway station will be completed. We will continue the ecological rehabilitation of the “Lebyazhye” lakes jointly with TAIF and “Orgsintez: companies, which provide very significant investments. We are very grateful for that to these organizations and their management. A number of sports grounds, a large football field on “Lokomotiv”. Huge improvements will be done around “Kazan”-building, where the fan’s festival would be held. Of other plans - the embankment of “Kaban” lake, which will extend from «Staro-Tatarskaya sloboda» past the theater to the fitness center - by the summer it will be done. There are also plans for the roads construction. Near the "Kazan" we will at last connect Bondarenko street from Soldatskaya to Sibgata Khakima. All these changes and improvements will remain with the citizens.

There are plenty improvements, and I am sure, that dear townspeople of Kazan, guests and tourists, whom we also expect a large number this year, can see it with their own eyes. The plans are huge! May God grant us health, time and a peaceful sky to realize all this.
