The roundtable on philanthropy was held in the Kazan City Hall. The leaders of 13 charitable foundations and organizations of the city and Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in it. During the meeting, the participants set a goal to ensure that the capital of Tatarstan became a city, in which every person aims to do something good. The Mayor took control of the settlement of 200 children in foster families, training of fund staff, and organization of a charity festival.
“We would like our children to learn in school skills and needs to do good deeds, to hear those people who are next to them, along with the ability to read, write, and master foreign languages. Not everything depends on money, it's a good deed, attention, compassion, and empathy”, said Ilsur Metshin.
The participants discussed the issues of attracting volunteers to work, the preparation of foster families, the development of hippotherapy, interaction with government agencies, business, and the media.
“We are proud of the oil refining industry, new technologies, and production in our country. Certainly, these giants help people, thousands appeals to them. On September 5, we will definitely hold a holiday, so that each year we sum up the results and plan for the next year on that day. There is a republican contest “Philanthropist of the Year”, but we are discussing another section of the problems. We must awaken all those who are asleep, all those who are not indifferent. Prior to this meeting, we went individually on this road. It is necessary that these streams poured into a big ocean of care”, the head of Kazan concluded the meeting.
