(KZN.RU,
June 12, Mikhail Chentsov). At the weekend, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan,
visited the summer book festival by “Smena”, which was held in an open area for
the first time, in the park “Chernoe Ozero”.
Ilsur
Metshin inspected the assortment, presented at the book fair, and bought
several children's books to read together with his youngest son before a
bedtime when there would be such an opportunity.
The Mayor’s
attention was caught by the following books: an autobiographical work for
children “How I Became a Traveler” by Fedor Konyukhov, a cognitive work
“Nikolai Pirogov. The Great Surgeon” by Yevgenia Kalmykova, a book “Secrets of
the Globe of Blau” by Maria Ponomarenko, which is devoted to the difficult and
the fate full secrets of the huge 300-year-old globe.
In
addition, I. Metshin bought the “Kyrlay Ekyatlyare. Fairy tales of Kyrlay” by
Gabdulla Tukay, a small brochure “Staro-Tatarskaya Sloboda. A Walk”, as well as
several children's colorings “Tatar Ornament”.
Thanks to
the good weather and the fact that the festival was located in an open area,
there were more visitors at the festival than ever. “We can see citizens of
different ages here: small, young, and people of venerable age. My heart fills
with joy when I see the interest of Kazan residents in books”, the head of the
city shared his impressions of the book holiday.
The book
fair with the participation of more than 80 independent publishing houses,
shops, and book-selling companies became the main venue of the festival. It was
located in a wooden pergola in the center of the park. There was children's,
scientific, and fiction literature among the variety of books.
