Yesterday, the memory of Alfiya Avzalova, a People's Artist of the TASSR, an Honored Artist of the RSFSR, a laureate of the State Prize of the RT named after G. Tukay, was honored in Kazan. Admirers of talent and colleagues gathered in the Tatar State Philharmonia named after G. Tukay at a concert in honor of the 85th birth anniversary of the Tatar star.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the RT and the Philharmonia but the initiative belongs to the artists. Singers, theater actors, and writers gathered in the auditorium, including such celebrities as actor Ravil Sharafiev, opera singers Venera Ganeeva and Zilya Sungatullina, vocalists Rustem Malikov and Rustem Zakirov, writers Lyabib Leron, Rabit Batulla and Vakhit Imamov, musician Aidar Faizrakhmanov. Vasil Shaikhraziev, the deputy prime minister of the RT, Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, Airat Sibagatullin, the minister of Culture of the RT, and others were also present. The daughters of the artist Guzel Avzalova and Zulfiya Nigmedzyanova came to honor her memory.
Songs from the repertoire of A. Avzalova and the composition of dedication in honor of her 85th birthday sounded from the scene that evening. Well-known artists, such as “Kazan Egetlere”, the duet “Artur-Marat”, Aidar Galimov, and Salavat Fathetdinov, and also the beginners performed on the stage.
“All the admirers of the talent, colleagues were here, all came with great respect. This is very important, as this concert became a unifying moment for the cultural community of Kazan”, said Azat Abzalov, the head of the Kazan Department of Culture. “Alfiya Avzalova is no longer with us but she continues to be the luminary of the stage and a truly national artist”.

Alfiya Avzalova is an Honored Artist of the TASSR, a People's Artist of the TASSR, an Honored Artist of the RSFSR, a laureate of the State Prize of the RT named after G. Tukay. She was awarded the order for “Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan”. She is known for working in the Tatar State Philharmonia named after G. Tukay and with the variety instrumental ensemble “Kazan Utlary”. The documentary “Mon Patshabikese” (Tat. “The Queen of the Song”) was made in her honor, which premiered in 2010. She died in June 2017 after a long illness.
