(KZN.RU,
July 8, Alina Berezhnaya). The Flower Festival will open today in the square in
front of the Puppet Theater “Ekiyat”. 32 compositions will be presented in an
area of 23 thousand square meters. The theme of the fifth festival is “The
Bright Colors of Summer”. Igor Kulyazhev, the deputy head of the Kazan
Executive Committee and the chairman of the Committee for External Improvement,
announced this at the Business Monday today.
Each
composition is unique; not only flowers, ornamental trees, shrubs, but also art
objects, decor elements, and artistic lighting were used to create them, said
I. Kulyazhev. This year, 15 organizations took part in the festival, including
landscape firms, housing and communal services, construction and retail
companies.
The
festival is part of the large-scale project “The Blooming Kazan”, noted I.
Kulyazhev. Every citizen can contribute to the design of the city. A contest
for the best design of facades, adjacent and yard territories of houses will
last in Kazan until August 30. Applications for participation in the
competition, photographs and the address of the location of the flower
decoration must be sent to the website. Winners will be chosen by voting.
The winner
in the nomination “The Best Floral Frame of the Urban Environment” will be
chosen as well. As a prize, he will receive an SLR camera. The best photos will
be posted in the anniversary album, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the
TASSR, said I. Kulyazhev.
Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that every year the “Flower Festival” is
becoming more and more popular, while the flower decoration is expanding in
Kazan. “The “Flower Festival” has proven itself well; it grows not only in
area, but also in the number of participants. In general, flowers delight the
eyes of Kazan citizens not only in the center, parks, and squares, but throughout
the city. Thanks to everyone who takes part in it. It is important to continue
working on the task of making Kazan the most comfortable and beautiful city”,
concluded I. Metshin.
