Construction
of a new equestrian complex is underway in the Mirny residential area, which
will combine sports infrastructure and opportunities for children with
disabilities. The first stage of the project is 85% completed. The complex will
be equipped with the advanced equipment for animal care, including a solarium
for horses. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the progress of the
construction.
Accessible
environment: the complex will be fully adapted for children with disabilities.
The
construction of the equestrian complex is carried out in two stages. The first
stage provides for construction of a hippo therapy arena with an area of 3,000
square meters with two stables for 60 horses. It will have a necessary
engineering infrastructure and storage facilities.
The new
complex will become a point of attraction for tourists. “We aim to 7 million
tourists, and we need new magnets for this. We plan to create a modern
equestrian tourism complex in Mirny. The proximity to the Matyushinsky forest
makes it possible to arrange walking trails of various lengths, which will
increase city’s tourist places”- the Mayor noted.
Ilsur
Metshin also added that the complex would be used for the preparation for the
Nomad Games.
The key
feature of the complex is its inclusivity. The complex will meet the needs of
children with disabilities: there are no steps inside, and the routes from the
locker rooms to the arena are designed for unhindered access. The complex
provides changing rooms, showers, bathrooms and offices.
“Equestrian
sports are traditional for our republic. We pay attention to the development of
this sport, but here we focus on inclusion – children and teenagers will have
the opportunity to practice on an equal basis with everyone,”- said Ilsur
Metshin.
