On April 13 and 14, a spring series of lectures and discussions “Dialogues”
organized by the Kazan Mayor's Office will take place in the public offices of
the Kazan Kremlin. More than 60 transport experts from all over Russia will
discuss the comfort, sustainability and safety of urban transport
infrastructure. As Ilsiyar Tukhvatullina, the chief architect of the capital of
Tatarstan, reported at the Business Monday meeting, this topic was chosen based
on the results of a survey of participants of the Kazanysh architectural and
construction forum in December 2022.
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, noted that the development of the
transport infrastructure is directly related to the urban development strategy.
“This is a priority issue for us, so we always search optimal and correct
solutions and invite experts, professionals, young and prominent architects and
designers. Kazan residents want to live in a beautiful, well-maintained and
dynamically developing city. Therefore, it is our common responsibility to the
future of our children and the city,”- he said.
The program of the new Dialogues is divided into 4 blocks. At the
discussions of the first block “Urban Transport Framework”, experts will
discuss the accessibility, connectivity and safety of the road network, as well
as best practices in the improvement and reconstruction of urban streetscapes.
The second block will be devoted to the use of transport modeling tools.
The discussion will be organized with the support of the Unified Institute of
Spatial Planning of the Russian Federation, it will discuss the simulation of
transport processes to assess the impact of facilities under construction on
infrastructure.
Modern trends and urban mobility will be discussed at the site of the
third block “Diversity of transport”.
I.Tukhvatullina said that the second topic of the “Dialogues” will be
improvement of status of architect profession, developing flexible skills among
specialists in this field. The speakers will be Rayana Akhmetzyanova, public
speaking coach, and Anatoly Belov, publicist, PR consultant, founder of the
architectural magazine Project Russia. The self-presentation, promotion in
social networks and the media will be discussed.
Kazan and Russian architectural teams will also speak at the Dialogues
and will share their experience in working with customers and author
supervision. More information about the event is available on the website.
“Such events and dialogues with the professional community are very
important: communication with professionals allows to accept ideas and design
new residential complexes, neighborhoods and roads. I suggest developers and
architects, urban planners, transport designers and government representatives
to take part in the “Dialogues”. We intended this event in order to help our architects
and urban planners to break away from the routine, refresh their vision and
expand their professional horizons, and with this the level of ideas and
solutions will grow,”- I. Metshin said.
