This year’s fourth humanitarian cargo weighing about 90 tons was shipped
today from Kazan to Lisichansk. In addition to food, medicines, personal care
amenities and building materials, five heavy trucks will deliver gifts for
veterans to Victory Day and seeds for planting at the request of local residents
to the city supported by Tatarstan. A special cargo has been prepared for the
mobilized Kazan citizens - night vision devices, quadcopters, and other special
equipment. The departure of the convoy from Victory Park was inspected by the
Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
“Today we are shipping necessary goods for returning to a peaceful life.
The residents of Lisichansk particularly asked for spring sowing material: seeds of carrots, onions – for home gardening.
We are forming such a cargo for the first time, and today everything has been
done so that in the coming days it will be delivered to our colleagues in
Lisichansk,”- the Mayor said.
This convoy comprises five trucks. One truck will deliver building
materials weighing 20 tons, 2 trucks – personal care amenities, household
chemicals and medicines weighing 30 tons, 2 more trucks – food products
weighing 38 tons (canned meat, condensed milk, cereals, pasta, and butter).
Deputy Head of the Kazan Executive Committee Ildar Shakirov said that to
date, a total of 910 tons of humanitarian cargo have been sent to Lisichansk. “This
cargo comprises 20 tons of roofing material, in particular 800 sheets of slate,
and nails for restoration work. Also, on the eve of Victory Day, 120 gift sets
will be delivered to veterans living in Lisichansk, which traditionally include
tea, coffee, buckwheat, sunflower oil, sweets and canned food,”- he said.
At the initiative of the Republican Clinical Hospital, the cargo also
included 2 tons of medicines – more than 100 different items (albumin,
fluconazole, ceftriaxone, dexamethasone, levofloxacin and others).
For the first time, on the eve of the start of the spring sowing
campaign, heavy trucks will carry planting material (onions, seeds) to the city
supported by the republic.
Besides, goods for mobilized citizens will be delivered such as night
vision devices, quadcopters, and other special equipment.
