By September,
Borisovskaya and Novo-Davlikeevskaya streets with a total length of 4.5 km will
be repaired in the Privolzhsky city district. In addition to repairing the road
maintenance, sidewalks will be renovated here, 12 bus stop shelters and 92
outdoor lighting poles will be installed. Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur
Metshin inspected the progress of repair work.
“Thanks to good
weather conditions we can implement all types of repair and construction works,
including road maintenance. There were many appeals from residents of the
villages of Mirny and Boriskovo, they asked to equip a sidewalk for pedestrians
and repair the road. Thanks to our federal and republican programs for capital
repairs and construction of roads, we have reached the solution of these
problems in the villages,”- the head of the city said.
Ilsur Metshin
reminded that several major infrastructure projects are being implemented in
Kazan this year: the first stage of the construction of the Voznesensky Tract
is being completed, the bridge over the Nizhny and Sredniy Kaban will be opened
after the renovation, work continues on the expansion of the Gorkovskoye Highway.
This will significantly improve the traffic situation.
“In addition to
work on large infrastructure projects, we do not forget about settlements, so
work is planned in the villages of Otary, Konstantinovka, Samosyrovo, Sukhaya
Reka, Boriskovo, Mirny, and some other facilities. In total, we are carrying
out repair works on 47 large sections of streets in Kazan this year. All this
will serve to improve the traffic in Kazan,”- the Mayor said.
The work started
on Borisovskaya and Novo-Davlikeevskaya streets about a month ago. The top
layer of high-strength asphalt concrete SHCHMA-16 will be laid here with a
total area of 26,300 sq.m. The repair will also affect the sidewalks with a
total area of 10,400 sq.m, workers will replace 500 m of road and 10 thousand meters
of sidewalk side stone.
There were no
sidewalks on certain sections of streets before – they will be built for the
convenience of residents. During the construction of new pedestrian paths,
trees and shrubs will be preserved.
Presently,
repair work has been completed by 17%. Milling of the pavement is completed by
40%, asphalt is laid by 15%, sidewalks are equipped by 17%. About 30 workers
and up to 10-15 vehicles work at the facility every day, depending on the type
of work performed. Asphalting of the site is carried out around the clock.
During the
repair work, traffic is partially restricted – cars temporarily move in one
lane, while the public transport route was not affected.
Ilsur Metshin
also talked with local residents, who thanked the mayor for the long-awaited road
repair. They also expressed some wishes. Flura Kiselyova complained that public
transport stops are located too far from each other – the distance exceeds 1.2
km, and this causes inconvenience.
“There are clear
requirements that are fixed by federal legislation,”- Ilsur Metshin explained.
He promised that the city authorities would try to find a solution to equip a
bus stop shelter that would meet safety requirements.
The Mayor
promised to discuss with the traffic police the issue of moving the pedestrian
crosswalk to a safer place.
