Seedlings were planted in the new greenhouses of the Gorvodzelenkhoz for the first time - one million tulip bulbs. In addition, two million annual plants will be planted soon: marigolds, petunias, begonias and others. In spring, the grown-up flower seedlings will be planted on the streets of the city, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin announced today during a visit to the new greenhouses on Daurskaya Street. «We work like in a fairy tale», – employees of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodzelenkhoz shared with the Mayor.
«We are planting such a volume of seedlings for the first time, which has become possible with the construction of new greenhouses. They are built using advanced technologies: they are equipped with an automated climate control system, artificial lighting, drip irrigation, and an artificial fog system. We achieved the most favorable environment for flower seedlings. As many as 3 million seedlings will grow in such comfortable conditions. The flowers will grow and gain strength, and in spring, with the onset of the warm season, they will move to urban flower beds, parks and squares and become one of the main decorations of our city», – - said Ilsur Metshin.
One million tulips have already been planted in greenhouses. Planting of another 2 million annual plants will begin soon. About 3,700 potted flowers will be planted in February.
The new 11,500 square meter greenhouse allows for year-round flower cultivation. Unlike the old buildings on Khadi Taktasha Street, built back in the 1980s, the new complex is fully automated.
