One the eve of the Day of Russian Students, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin paid a visit to the Kazan Radio Mechanical College. The Mayor looked round the educational spaces and laboratories, inspected the building's renovation and the new equipment. The Mayor's last visit to the college took place in 2017. Since then, the college's popularity among young people has grown threefold: now it has 1,400 students, whereas in 2017 there were only 450. The Mayor talked to the students and teachers of the college and congratulated them on Tatiana's Day. The students presented the Mayor with a chess set they had made themselves.
«We came here on the eve of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The conditions that were there before and now are streets apart. Conditions are not only about beauty, but also about technical equipment. New equipment, laboratories, and machine tools allow you to get professions that will make you competitive in the market. We have intentionally improved the conditions and we want you to grow up, come out of these walls as professionals, get a good salary, create families, have children and be happy living here in Kazan», – Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, addressed the students. He congratulated the students on Tatiana's Day, wishing them success.
Kazan Radio Mechanical College was established in 1974. Since last visit of the Mayor to the college in 2017, the institution has changed beyond recognition.
Renovation works were carried out in the college in stages. Thanks to the support of the city and the republic, as well as at its own expense, the college has updated its material and technical base. This made it possible to open new modern study fields and laboratories, and improve the quality of education.
