Oleg Gazmanov, Nikolai Rastorguev, Dima Bilan, Filipp Kirkorov to perform at the upcoming New Wave in Kazan

The New Wave International Music Contest will take place in Kazan on August 20 - 26. This year, 13 finalists from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Russia will participate in the contest. Ignat Izotov, a singer from Tatarstan, also will take part in the final. The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin spoke about the preparations for the event at the Business Monday meeting. 

“We are very proud of the participation of musician Ignat Izotov. Many people remember him as a young singer at the Constellation-Yoldyzlyk project, and today he is already a professional artist. In addition to the competition program, the audience will enjoy concerts with the participation of Russian pop stars. Igor Krutoy, Oleg Gazmanov, Nikolai Rastorguev, Dima Bilan, Tatiana Kurtukova, Filipp Kirkorov, Lusiya Chebotina, Artur Pirozhkov, Alsou and Igor Nikolaev will perform on stage. The festival program includes creative evenings and a tribute concert dedicated to Yuri Antonov and Oleg Gazmanov. Many music fans are looking forward to this event. August 23 is the premiere day, new songs by our artists will be performed in Kazan,” Ilsur Metshin said. 

Last summer, Kazan hosted the International Contest of Young Pop Singers New Wave for the first time. On 22-24 August, the singers perform on the stage for victory. The winner of the contest was Alex Lim. 

The New Wave Contest has been held since 2002 to support talented young performers, develop international cultural exchange in pop music, and promote new musical works and singers. Until 2014, it was held annually in Jurmala (Latvia), from 2015 to 2019 in Sochi, and in 2021 and 2024 in Sirius.
