A new House of the Teacher opens in Kazan

A new House of the Teacher has opened at 49a Podluzhnaya Street in Kazan. It became the first venue in Russia to unite the professional development of teachers and educational managers under one roof. A round table discussion “Kazan: a city that nurtures talents” took place here today. The Mayor Ilsur Metshin met with students of pedagogical universities, young teachers, school principals, winners of professional competitions and industry veterans. 

“I am very glad that together with the teaching community and the Department of Education we have opened the Teacher's House. We had a desire to create a creative, modern and decent space where you could share best practices in your work”- said Ilsur Metshin. 

The work of the Teacher’s House will be carried out in four main areas: a Leadership Center, a Pedagogical workshop, a R&D center, and an HR center. The Association of Young Teachers of Kazan will be accommodated here. 

The Teacher’s House is equipped with modern multimedia equipment, including interactive panels, LED screens, sound, light and video conference systems. 

The new Teacher's House is located in a two-storey building with an area of about 950 square meters. There is a conference hall with 140 seats, a transformable hall with 70 seats for strategic sessions, workshops and project work, a conference hall with 19 seats and a media studio for creating educational content, podcasts and online sessions. 

The building on Podluzhnaya Street is an object of cultural heritage. Its restoration began in 2024 on the initiative of the Mayor Ilsur Metshin. Previously, the House of education workers was located at 62/9 Bauman Street, but its area did not meet modern challenges. Over the past three years, the number of events has increased almost fivefold - from 30 to 150 per year, and the number of participants has reached 9,000 people.
