(Kazan, KZN.RU, April 17, by Adelya Galieva) Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited Tatarstan's only school Miniatures Museum dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. The museum was opened in Moskovsky district's School No. 64.
Initially, the school opened a Military Glory Room, dedicated to the 33rd Motorized Guards Brigade. Subsequently, the room was expanded into a museum that houses rare items made in the pre-war and wartime. All exhibits were painstakingly gathered by students and their parents.
School Director Anna Kaplan drew the mayor's attention to Tatarstan's only Museum of Military Miniatures where unique exhibits representing majors battles of 1941-1945 are collected. Thus, the exhibition features mock-ups of the biggest battles of the last century: the Brest Fortress, Moscow, Stalingrad, the Battle of Kursk and the battle for Berlin.
Safety and Wellness and PE teacher, reserve officer Vyacheslav Novak said that the "Arsenal" bench modeling club was founded three years ago. It became a center for study of Russia's military past and military equipment. All "War Chronicle in Miniature" exhibits were made by 2nd to 11th grade club members.
Ilsur Metshin, who attentively studied the exhibits, appreciated the children's efforts and expressed admiration for their work. "I've never seen anything like this! Well done!" the mayor praised the enthusiastic kids, who spend a lot of time on their hobby – the study and reconstruction of the history of Russia.
