Last year Kazan lived without economic shocks
The aggregate figures in 2009 show that the economy of the city suffered slightly from last year's crisis.
-Throughout all year the city economy developed on more positive dynamics in comparison with the average republic and the Russian tendencies, - Azat Sharapov, the chairman of Committee of economic development of Executive committee of Kazan has informed on «Business Monday» in the City Hall. - The majority of total figures surpassed those that we predicted earlier this year.
Following the 2009 by large and medium-sized enterprises were shipped goods of own production worth 120.1 billion rubles. Growth was observed at the enterprises for the production of vehicles and equipment, chemical industry and production of petroleum products. The largest decline was observed at the enterprises of textile-clothing production and manufacture of building materials.
Despite the unfavourable prognosis actively continued housing in Kazan - the commissioning of housing amounted to 723.4 thousand sq. metres, as well as construction and renovation of community facilities - this have been spent for it 20 billion rubles. Major repairs of Kazan about 700 houses have been done and 14 kilometers of roads repaired.
Not one day did not stop construction of sport objects of Universiade - for 2009 was put into operation 8 of them.
