Ilsur
Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, and Nafisa Khayrullina, an actress of the Kamal
Theater, took part in a charity concert together with the State Symphony
Orchestra of the RT. Artists read the libretto to the music from the same
ballet by P. Tchaikovsky. The concert was accompanied by a display of excerpts
from the Soviet cartoon “The Nutcracker” of 1973 and the performance of the
students of the Kazan Choreographic School.
The fees
for the concert will be transferred to the Angela Vavilova Fund for the
organization of the first children's hospice in Tatarstan.
“To say
that I'm worried is not to say anything!” the Mayor confessed before the
performance and marked that it is a great honor and responsibility for him to
be on stage with the great musicians and participate in the project of
concerned people.
“The offer
of participation in the concert was unexpected for me. I liked that the
orchestra organizes concerts in favor of building a children's hospice for the
fourth time. It is consistency and targeting that helps to achieve serious
results in charity”, said Ilsur Metshin. According to him, the construction of
a children's hospice in Kazan is a civic initiative, and the Mayor takes part
in his free from work time like a Kazan citizen who wants to help as much as
possible those in need.
