At the Moscow Urban Forum, Ilsur Metshin announced the open selection for the position of the chief architect of Kazan at the roundtable on the role of chief architects in shaping the urban environment. He invited Russian and foreign experts to participate in it.
The Mayor of Kazan marked that the development of the urban environment and public space depends directly on the work of the chief architect. The decisions he makes in the course of his work form the basis for shaping the appearance of cities. “What is a city? It is a circle of 360 degrees, and there is not a single degree, which would be secondary. Everything is important: health, culture, education, public transport. But if in some areas decisions can be corrected, then everything that comes from the architect determines the development of the city for many years to come”, said I. Metshin. “This is a key figure in the team of any mayor. The city is such a complex mechanism that can be compared with a clock, and the architect is the minute hand in it that shows the future”.
The head of the city noted that the Moscow Urban Forum is an excellent platform to invite experts of the country and abroad for participation in the selection to the position. “We are open to the most courageous, new ideas. Following the best cities of Russia, Kazan is actively developing today. Under the leadership of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of Tatarstan, we are building such plans, in which the role of the chief architect will be significant. We promise to be a source of architectural ideas”, concluded the Mayor of Kazan.
