Over 20 thousand of Kazan veterans were awarded by commemorative medals to the 65th anniversary of Victory. These figures were announced today the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin in the speech at a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and celebration of the 65th anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in Republic of Tatarstan.
Recall meeting chaired by President Rustam Minnikhanov was held today in Naberezhnye Chelny.
In accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation in the city was organized presentation of commemorative medals "65 Years of Victory in Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945" to veterans. Rewarding of people with disabilities and war veterans, home front workers are organized every day - in the Kazan City Hall, schools, enterprises, universities and in the palaces of culture, in a festive atmosphere, with delivery of food packages and holiday gifts.
To those who for health reasons can not participate in the festivities (such veterans in Kazan are about 15 thousand) jubilee medals and gifts are given at home. Refinement of data on the health of veterans is carried out daily, assured Ilsur Metshin.
Thus today in Kazan was awarded more than 20 thousand veterans, among them at home to 11 thousand.
