FISU Vice-President highly evaluates chances of Kazan to host Universiade-2013
“Kazan may become a city that will host the Universiade-2013,” FISU Vice-President thinks. “In several hours I have been shown several arguments why it must be so.” According to Stefan Bergh’s words, it is a great event for him to see enormous number of students that are enthusiastic about organization of the Universiade-2013 in Kazan. Besides, FISU evaluation commission’s head highly evaluated all sport facilities he has seen in Kazan – “everything is done at high technical level”. “You have a good sport conception – all sport facilities are constructed in a logical way,” he pointed out.
“I am impressed by what I’ve seen,” Stefan Bergh said. “Kazan may become a city that will host the Universiade-2013. Although we cannot make any forecasts, because there are two more candidate-cities – Spanish Vigo and Korean Gwang Ju.”
Answering a question about impressions after the visit to Russia, Stefan Bergh answered that this visit has evoked only positive emotions. He indicated good organization and readiness to follow advice of FISU.
Mayor of Kazan paid attention to the fact that Kazan lacks at least three sport facilities at present. They are Academy of Tennis, Water Sports Palace and a stadium for 40 thousand seats. “Despite the fact whether Kazan hosts the Universiade-2013 or not, these facilities will be constructed,” Ilsur Metshin assured. “But victory we all are looking forward to will lead Kazan to an absolutely new level of development. We cannot even imagine what we will have here.”
