(KZN.RU, February 9, Renat Shirmanov). Federal funds coming to Kazan are spent effectively; thereby the preparation for the student games goes at full drive. This has been reported today to Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister during a special video conference connecting Saint Petersburg and Kazan.
The videoconference was attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, RT President, Vitaly Mutko, Minister of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, Rafis Burganov, Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan, Vladimir Leonov, Director General of the Kazan 2013 Executive Committee, Ilgiz Fakhriev, Chairman of the Physical Culture and Sports Committee, and Farid Abdulganiev Mayor of the Universiade Village. All of them presented main objects of the Universiade to the Prime Minister.
Once again Vladimir Putin pointed out brilliant results of our student team which had won the first place at the Games in Erzurum. "This result sets for a good mood on the eve of the Sochi Olympics. But today we have been gathered to get acquainted with the preparations for the Universiade 2013 in Kazan. This is an important event which is comparable to the Olympic Games", Vladimir Putin noted.
"I want to say gratitude words for your trust and support. The preparation for the Universiade is going at full drive. 884 days are left before its start, and 25 objects have been already operating out of 30 ones. By 2013 we will have held 50 events in a test mode. This is a great experience for us", Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan said.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the transportation plan had been already approved; an active construction of interchanges and pedestrian crossings was conducted. Especially Rustam Minnikhanov marked that the reconstruction of Kazan airport would be completed next year.
Vladimir Putin in conclusion of the videoconference thanked the athletes for their awards, and conference participants - for their work.
