He expressed gratitude to the residents, teams, and media who had worked for
the improvement of the city and emphasized the importance of unity. The Mayor
assured that the city would continue to develop in the next year.
«Holding such major events as
the Universiade, the FINA World Championships, FIFA World Cup, and WorldSkills,
we thought that we had reached the top. This year we have reached another level
and received the highest appreciation from guests from all over the world,
heads of state, as well as Russian President Vladimir Putin», – said the Mayor.
The Mayor reminded that
Russian President had called Kazan one of the best cities in Europe and that it
was developing at an impressive pace. «We are pleased with this
appreciation of the President. This is the result of the work of generations. This
became possible due to the achievements of our predecessors and veterans who had
worked for decades. I want to thank everyone who had contributed to this
success», – he
noted.
The Mayor added that large-scale events have shown that residents are looking
for new opportunities. «We are turning over a golden page in Kazan's history.
Next year, we will work hard, we will create, choosing new ways to develop in
dialogue with residents. We will do this together. I want to thank the media – their
constructive criticism helps us focus our attention on what needs to be improved.
The media and our residents are our allies who help us identify areas for
improvement, together we can make progress and accomplish what is important at
each stage of our work. We are truly a team united by love for our city», – the Mayor
said.
