I.Metshin presented awards to winners of rating of international activity of cities
(Kazan City KZN.RU, July 31, Zilya Gayfi). Ilsur Metshin presented awards to winners of the rating of the international activity of cities. The ceremony took place today in the capital's City Hall as part of the Congress of Local Authorities of Eurasia.
Ilsur Metshin initiated the establishment of an international rating of activity of cities at a meeting of the Eurasian department in Aktau, Kazakhstan in August 2014. The initiative was supported at the global level at a meeting of senior management of the World Organization of UCLG in Barcelona in February 2015. Rating was compiled by the Secretariat of the Eurasian section of UCLG, together with the expert group, which included academic experts in the field of international cooperation.
According to the Mayor of Kazan, cities of Eurasia actively participated in the ranking, and presented their materials for independent expert group headed by Professor of Kazan Federal University Nail Muharyamov. Thus, the absolute winner of the international rating activity became the capital of Kazakhstan - Astana. The winners of the ranking among major cities appeared to be Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod. Among medium-sized cities Yakutsk, Stavropol, Tiraspol were considered the best. Among small cities - Elabuga, Magadan and Bugulma.
Recall today the Congress of Local Authorities of Eurasia was held in Kazan, it was attended by local and regional leaders of the Eurasian regional branch of the World Organization "United Cities and Local Governments". The Congress was chaired by Co-President of UCLG, the president of the Eurasian department of the organization the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.
