Ilsur Metshin: "2015 has been constructive for Kazan"

(Kazan City KZN.RU, December 28). The past year was marked by big, bright, positive developments, among which was the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, the World Cup in water sports, the victory of Kazan bid to host the world championship «Worldskills», unprecedented scale program of reconstruction of parks and squares, election of the President of Tatarstan. Mayor Ilsur Metshin announced preliminary results of 2015 at the final staff meeting of the Executive Committee of the city.

The Mayor pointed out that the whole year was difficult, both in the economy and in politics. However, the capital of Tatarstan continues to show progress on a range of indicators. "We managed to do a lot in the field of urban development. It was a constructive year. Unfortunately, the volume of undone always exceeds the amount that has been achieved. Our day is so good because of it is difficult - we will continue to work together", - said the Mayor.

Ilsur Metshin called the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War one of the highlights of the year. "This is a national holiday, which we met and celebrated with the whole country, the whole world in very dignified way, with patriotic enthusiasm. The immortal regiment, the updated park, scores of new museums, especially in schools – made by the hands of our children and  teaching staff care - very much has been done,"- said the Mayor.

The World Championships in Aquatics left noticeable trace in the history of the city, according to the head of the city, it gave the opportunity to present Kazan, Tatarstan, and new Russia around the world. Also winning of Kazan bid to host the collar occupations championship «Worldskills» in Paris was significant event of the year. Ilsur Metshin stressed that serious work on the preparation of the FIFA World Cup 2018 and the world championship “Worldskills-2019” is ahead.

The people of Kazan noticed showy events in the history of the city. Kazan residents supported the chosen course of development of the republic and the city with their votes in the elections of the President of Tatarstan and Kazan City Duma deputies. "We have received the most important credit in the past year - credit of trust from our voters in the elections of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan City Duma deputies. The results, which the President and the City Council have received, speak for themselves. This is an important credit of trust that we must meet. There were big wins, and there were setbacks, disappointments, unfortunately. But everything is important: the number of new housing and roads, repair of schools and the construction of kindergartens, gravel roads in the villages, all of this is important! "- the head of the city noted the influence of each individual achievement at the overall development of the capital of Tatarstan.

Speaking about plans for the next year, Ilsur Metshin noted that Kazan has a reserve of strength that will help to cope with any difficulties. "We reviewed the socio-economic indicators of the city at the final session of the City Duma. We are aware that difficulties lie ahead. Together with the President, colleagues from the Government, the business community, industry and citizens, I am sure, Kazan, Tatarstan and Russia as a whole have a margin of safety. God willing, the coming year we will live in the creativity, in work, and most importantly, in the peaceful country, despite any difficulties"- said the Mayor.

On the eve of New Year Ilsur Metshin appealed to citizens asking not to forget about those people who are particularly in need of care and attention. "There is a pleasant New Year chore. We have single pensioners, orphans, families with many children, they all need our attention. During the year there were local, one-off events in Kazan, but the number of people requiring assistance is much broader. Help is not always money. Attention and kind words are also of great expense. There is the priority among the 12 areas that we designated for urban development in the future five years - to become the kindest city. Let us be attentive to each other. Let each resident of the city will received attention at holydays,"- called on the Mayor of Kazan.
