The work of city services during the New Year holidays was discussed in Kazan Executive Committee

(Kazan City KZN.RU, January 11). During New Year holidays the work of city services of Kazan was organized in emergency mode. From 1 to January 10 51,000 tons of snow and estimates were removed, 226 of 2100 pitched roofs were cleaned, about 81.3 cubic meters of debris were utilized. 1560 janitors and 115 units of special equipment were involved daily in cleaning of adjoining areas and driveways. Operation of public transport and health care services of the city was also ensured. Work of services during New Year holidays was discussed by heads of departments of the Executive Committee during the workshop with the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

Since the beginning of January in Kazan 25 mm of snow dropped, this is 78% of normal. According to the Committee of land improvement, due to the weather conditions, the main forces of the enterprises of improvement were sent to fight the formation of black ice. Since the beginning of the winter period in the processing of the objects of the road network 35 thousand tons of deicing material, including 9.5 thousand tons from early January, were used.

Also snow removal was made on a daily basis. Since early January from the streets of Kazan 51 thousand tons of snow were taken, and since the beginning of the winter season - 150 thousand tons. The average appearance of equipment during the holiday season amounted to about 550 units. Particular attention was paid to snow removal at the areas of public festivals.

City housing and communal services have worked with no failures on holidays. For this from 1 to 10 January 2016 at all utilities and housing organizations senior officials of the administrative board were on duty at the Committee of communal services. Also every day for the elimination of accidents and their consequences 97 teams composed of 405 people, staffed by special equipment and vehicles were in readiness.

According to emergency dispatchers, 29 switching-offs were on public utilities during holidays, and in an ordinary week 80 switching-offs take place on average. All switching-offs were local and short-term. Note that the planned works related to disconnection of utilities were not carried out during the New Year holidays, as it was previously reported.

1560 janitors and 115 units of special equipment were involved daily in cleaning of adjoining areas and driveways. Also about 40 specialists performed clearing of roofs of snow and ice caps as a preventive procedure. A total 226 pitched roofs of 2100 were cleared.

Planned worked on waste disposal took place. Since the beginning of the year a total approximately 81.3 cubic meters of debris, including 47.1 thousand cubic meters of waste from areas of apartment buildings and 34.2 thousand cubic meters of garbage from residential areas, were removed and disposed. This is an average only 2-3% higher than in ordinary days. Up to 43 garbage trucks and 14 bunker tracks were on go at daily waste disposal. As it was noted in the report of the Committee of communal services, over-accumulation of debris on the collection points was avoided in the New Year holidays through enhanced waste disposal at 30 and 31 December and the use of plastic euro containers.

It should be added that, from 1 to 10 January 6989 applications were received in the service "Open Kazan", of which 4779 have been fulfilled, it is 74% of the total number of applications.

Medical services of the city worked in emergency mode. According to information from the Health Department of Kazan, beds in case of massive influx of patients and victims were reserved in the hospitals – it is up to 10% of hospital beds, additional reception of doctors - specialists in clinics was organized, as well as the necessary supply of medicines and medical products was created. In addition, the specialized medical care as an outpatient and inpatient was organized 24 hours: dental, trauma, childbirth care.

According to the profile Office, the number of mobile teams at the city ambulance station was brought to 80. Since December 31, 2015 by January 10, 2016 they received 13,834 calls, including 1587 - at public places, 1711 - on accidents, 35 - in the fires, 49 - by accident. Also in the holidays city health institutions were providing health care to the entire city's mass cultural and sports activities.

Public transportation was marked separately at the meeting. It is worth mentioning that from 1 to 10 January transport service for residents and visitors has been organized by the graphs of the holiday, work of transport was extended to 2.00 a.m. in the New Year, special supply of transport was provided at Christmas night. In the New Year holidays any complaints about urban transport has not been reported at the hotline.

During New Year holidays special attention was paid to the protection of public order in public places. Through the work of the police serious incidents had not been committed.
