I. Metshin took part in a wreath-laying ceremony in Victory Park
(Kazan City KZN.RU, 9 May). Today in celebration of the 71th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War in Kazan Victory Park ceremony of laying flowers to the Eternal Flame, Monument to the mothers and widows of fallen soldiers took place.
The solemn ceremony was attended by war veterans, President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, RT President's aide Leila Fazleeva, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and heads of republican agencies and the Executive Committee of the city.
Wreaths were laid at the Eternal Flame of the Glory Memorial colonnade. The memory of the fallen during the war those present observed with a minute of silence. Also flowers were laid at the Monument of the mothers and widows of fallen soldiers, the memorial of sailors who died in World War II.
