The reconstruction and modernization of cultural institutions continues in Kazan

(KZN.RU, March 18, Alina Berezhnaya). The large-scale reconstruction of the houses of culture in Kazan allows fixing buildings of institutions and also developing new areas. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, said this today at the Business Monday. Thus, the cultural center "Saidash" opens after repairs in the third quarter of this year and will include the Albina Shagimuratova opera studio. The cultural center “Chulpan” will become not only a basic site for the city ensemble “Kazan”, but also a center for the development of folk dance.

The renewal of urban cultural institutions started in 2016 with the reconstruction the CLC Lenin and the CC “Moskovsky”. Today, they hold major city and republican events. In February, Vladimir Putin, the Russian President, met with representatives of the public in the Center “Moskovsky”.

The head of the city marked that thanks to the support of the President of the RT, the oldest houses of culture are being reconstructed and new institutions are opening in Kazan. “I could not believe that we would be able to master this amount of work. But thanks to the support and decisions of Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, the Government of the Republic, working enterprises, businesses, we have the opportunity to implement such projects”, said Ilsur Metshin. “Some time ago, we couldn’t even dream of it. And today, we state that not just a major overhaul is carried out in cultural institutions, but new trends are emerging in them”.

The reconstruction of the houses of culture will continue this year. A design estimate has already been developed for the repair of one of the oldest and most beautiful houses in Kazan: the House of Culture named after S. Said-Galiev in Derbyshki. “The building is a newly identified cultural heritage site. An exhibition space will be recreated there, reflecting the history of the unique industrial cluster of the Derbyski Settlement and the personality of Sahib Garei Said-Galiev, the first head of the parliament of our republic. Therefore, in the light of the approaching 100th anniversary of the TASSR, the issue of repairing the house is most relevant”, said Azat Abzalov, the head of the Department of Culture.

A design estimate was also formed for the overhaul of the cultural centers “Chulpan” and “Zalesny”. The latter object did not receive republican funding. However, documents have already been submitted for participation in the federal project “Cultural Wednesday”. The results will be known in the middle of the year.

The HoC “Zheleznodorozhnikov” in Yudino will be transformed as well. “Budget funding from April of this year will allow organizing free sections for residents of the settlement, and the planned overhaul will make the house with a 90-year history more functional”, said A. Abzalov.

Speaking of new cultural sites, the speaker noted the need to build a cultural center in the “Salavat Kupere”. The House of Culture with 700 places will allow creating a full-fledged comfortable cultural environment for the residents of the micro-district. A cultural center should be built in the Azino micro-district and named after the outstanding cultural figure Ilgam Shakirov.

The modernization will affect educational institutions of the cultural industry. Thus, the technical task for the R. Yakhin Children Music School №3 is under development. The work has begun on preparing documentation for the overhaul of Children Music School №1 named after P. Tchaikovsky. Those are the city’s oldest music schools. In addition, a package of documents has been prepared for inclusion in the overhaul program of Children Music School №11 and Children Art School №7.
