The Mayor of
Kazan Ilsur Metshin became familiar with the project of the overhaul of the Molodaya
gvardiya sports and recreation camp. In addition, he checked the compliance of the
security measures prescribed by the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer
Rights at the camp.
For information,
despite the difficult sanitary and epidemiological situation, it was decided to
organize summer recreation for children. However, for the first time, special
security measures were taken in the camps. Before arrival, the children
provided medical certificates of the absence of coronavirus infection. All
employees of the camp got tested for coronavirus as well.
Aleksey Kuzin, the head of the Molodaya Gvardiya camp,
told the Mayor of Kazan that to ensure the safety of the children, the
temperature is measured twice a day, air recirculators work in each building, bacterial
treatment is carried out in all premises.
The Molodaya Gvardiya camp was built in 1932. The
previous renovation was carried out in 1961. The capacity of the camp is 242
people per shift. After repairs it will increase to 400 people per shift.
Presently, children are trained in six sports. Sports
grounds are equipped for training in the camp.
During the upcoming overhaul, all buildings will be
demolished.
“This year, children will see how their parents used
to rest, and next summer there will be completely different conditions”, - said
Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. He also offered to keep one of the buildings
and organize a Museum of the camp, where more than one generation of Kazan citizens
had rested. By the way, one of the remarkable events of the camp's history was
the visit of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin.
As part of the overhaul, in addition to the new
buildings, new football pitches will be built at the Molodaya gvardiya camp, one
of them will have athletic tracks, an indoor training area, a workout area, two
beach sports grounds, two badminton courts, an asphalt athletic track, and a
jumping area. There will also be a mini-cinema, a tent for master classes, a
club, and a recovery center at the camp.
During a conversation with young athletes, the Mayor
of Kazan said that the overhaul of children's camps is held with the support of
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. “This year we are renovating four
camps. The Molodaya gvardiya is in our plans. In summer, we will finish work on
the project, and in September, when you go back home, we will start repairs: we
will build new buildings with toilets and showers inside, renovate the dining
room, build a hall, and a large football pitch. Therefore, next year you will
rest in new conditions”, - the Mayor said.
